Emerald Reflections

Emerald Reflections is a series of portraits done in shades of green. It explores women looking in the mirror and the various reflections and experiences that can occur. It was inspired by layouts and images generated via midjourney, which are also show along with the paintings.

Abstract Work

I only fill the space I get

I only fill the space I get

Acrylic on Watercolor Paper, 2022

This piece was create by using a brayer with black paint unevenly spread at the base to create unique marks. I then layers in other colors of paint to fill the spaces beteeen these marks, coming back at the end with a white paint on brayers. To me, it is a reflection on how we often only think to take the space we are given and what might happen if we were brave enough to push back a little?

This is MY Body

This is MY Body

Acrylic, Soft Pastel, and Marker on Watercolor Paper, 2022

This piece began with writing the word BODY in numerous fonts, colors, and types of marker and pastel. I used the shapes made by the text to develop the paintingand reflection ont he tensions of beautiful and challenging experiences in my own body - and what it is like to begin to truly experience your body as your own.
